About

National Gugak Center

Steeped in the values of traditional culture, the National Gugak Center is an institution aimed to transmit traditional Korean music and dance, with a long history and a wide range of traditional artistic resources. Its four theaters, each featuring a Korean aesthetic, host permanent performances, Korean holiday performances, and outdoor performances. Korea's only museum specializing in gugak, displaying a wide variety of gugak artifacts and instruments, hosts special exhibitions and experiential programs, while the Gugak Education Building offers gugak instrument classes and international academic conferences. The National Gugak Center is a traditional arts-based cultural complex that welcomes domestic and international audiences to experience all aspects of gugak.
