About

Korea Furniture Museum

The Korea Furniture Museum, specializing in traditional wooden furniture dating back to the late Joseon Dynasty, is one of the most unique and exclusive museums in the country. Ten traditional Korean houses called hanok, which were relocated to the museum grounds and meticulously restored so that the museum could display its collection of antique furniture in their original settings. Visitors can sit inside hanok buildings and experience the furniture pieces as they would have been used long ago. In 2011, CNN featured the Korea Furniture Museum as the most beautiful museum in Seoul, calling it one of the city’s best-kept secrets. Since opening in 2008, the museum has hosted presidents, prime ministers, royals, and other VIP visitors from China, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Singapore, and more. The Korea Furniture Museum is the ideal introduction to the traditional lifestyle and customs of Old Korea.
