About

Jeondeungsa Temple

Jeongdeungsa Temple, dating back to the year 381, is the oldest in Korea. The historic temple is located on the slopes of a mountain in Ganghwado and known for its colorful foliage in the autumn and snowy landscape in the winter. Jeondeungsa’s temple stay program offers visitors a chance to experience a life of meditation alongside Buddhist monks. It has been a popular program among foreigners as well as Koreans for many years. Jeongdeungsa Temple also includes various spaces that can be used to host events. Seonbuljang and Wolsongyo Halls have floor-seats while Jeondeunggak Hall and the temple restaurant have tables and chairs, making them suitable for seminars. Sound equipment and beam projectors are available in some spaces to allow for more varied conferences and performances. Visitors can also enjoy nature walks and tea-drinking ceremonies in this tranquil haven.
