Nami Island is a beautiful island located in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, and it is striving to realize
dreams of nature and human beings conexisting. It had once been a desolate island filled with
sand. Through environmentally friendly development and beautification efforts, this once desolate and sandy Nami Island transformed into a unique and beloved tourist stop filled with lush green woods, flowers, and artwork made of recycled materials. Many different tree species on the Island, such as metasequoias, ginkgos, cherry blossoms, and pine come together to boast beautiful views throughout the changing seasons. Because of this, Nami Island is popular as a filming location for TV dramas, movies and commercials.

Since it has indoor spaces with a state-of-the-art sound system and an outdoor stage with the
capacity to handle a large number spectators, Nami Island is a great place for various events.
Once every two years Nami Island hosts the "Nami Island International Children’s Book Festival",
an event where fairy tale writers and fairy tale books from all around the world come together.
Various events sponsored or hosted by foreign embassies in Korea, as well as international
organizations are also held on Nami Island each year.
