About

National Museum of Korea

The National Museum of Korea is the most representative and extensive museum in South Korea that presents thousands of years of history and cultural heritage with 420,000 objects under its collection. The museum, featuring a simple yet elegant, modern reinterpretation of Korea's traditional architectural spirit, is nestled among mountains, forests, ponds, and other elements of nature. Visitors can enjoy the masterpieces at the permanent galleries from simple hand axes of the Paleolithic Age, to a splendid gold crown, celadon and paintings throughout Korean history.
It also has special exhibition halls and the Children's Museum along with various informational and convenience facilities for both domestic and international guests. There are spaces available for international symposiums or various events. The auditorium seats 416 persons while the smaller conference hall seats 214. There are lecture halls available as well, which seat 100 persons, making them perfect for various conferences and seminars. On site restaurants also have spaces for smaller presentations, to allow guests to enjoy meetings over a meal. To the north lies Namsan Mountain, and to the south is an open square that opens out to a lovely pond, which can also host larger events.
